Come Celebrate With Us

Whether you’re returning to your roots or learning something new, Creole Culture Day offers an open invitation to experience the people, practices, and language that continue to shape our communities. Bring your family, your appetite, and your curiosity.

Let’s celebrate. Let’s preserve. Let’s talk—but in French.

LEONARD JONES, SR. MEMORIAL BOUCHERIE

(Begins at 6:30 AM)
The day begins early with a live boucherie—a hands-on, communal hog butchering and cooking tradition that has fed our families for generations. This year, two families featured in our upcoming film The Old Way Still Cuts: A Creole Boucherie will lead the demonstration. Food preparations such as cracklin, boudin, and meats from the pit will be served free to the public, with cooking demonstrations offered in English and Kouri-Vini.
